Eye surgery at Bay Area Eye InstituteCraig Berger, MD opened the Bay Area Eye Institute in 2007 specializing in refractive, corneal and cataract eye surgery.

Dr. Berger has performed a wide variety of corneal surgeries, including no-injection, sutureless cataract surgery, pterygium excision,amniotic membrane transplant and cornea transplant surgery. He is proud to be one of the first cornea surgeons in the Tampa Bay area to offer the latest advance in cornea transplant surgery, Descemet’s Stripping Automated Endothelial Keratoplasty (DSAEK).


Featured Surgical Procedure

INTACS® inserts are corneal implants used to correct nearsightedness (Myopia) and the effects of keratoconus.  The two curved, clear plastic implants are surgically placed in the outer edges of the cornea.
